Our Focus:

Facilitating pathways for underrepresented youth, women and veterans to consider careers in public safety and, develop a more educated insight into first responder professions.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH:

Our mission includes cross-sector collaboration with Local Education Agencies, Local Workforce Development Boards, Community Based Organizations, Affiliated Nonprofits and Public Safety Agencies to create a bridge for traditionally underrepresented individuals, underserved communities and veterans to gain qualifications for employment in a job sector experiencing rapidly growing demand. This pre-apprenticeship training allows candidates to learn skills that can provide employment within months, while gaining the necessary education and mentoring to achieve a Sustainable Wage Career as a first responder.

Aligned with our vision is ongoing implementation of high school Career Technical Education (CTE) curriculum for Fire Science, EMT and Law/Social Justice. This will have a long range, two-fold effect: to allow thousands more students from widely diverse backgrounds, throughout California, to evaluate and examine public safety job realities while also helping them to learn about, consider and receive training for careers in the fire service, law enforcement, civil service and EMS.

Initial outreach will take place in Solano, Alameda, Contra Costa and San Mateo Counties.
